George Winfrey is a senior analyst based in Denver. He works with clients and supports them with research and analysis on a wide range of domestic and international cannabis policy matters. He is passionate about promoting equity and inclusion in the cannabis industry and promoting other sensible drug policy reforms.
Prior to joining S64 in 2021, George served as legislative assistant in the office of Colorado House Energy and Environment Committee Chair Rep. Alex Valdez. In addition to staffing the committee, he worked on multiple cannabis-related bills that were later signed into law.
Previously, George served as Intergovernmental Affairs Coordinator in the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Coastal Activities, where he engaged in state and federal legislative affairs and stakeholder relations to advance the state’s coastal restoration and hurricane protection programs.
